Two events coming up: National Cyber Leage Is two Saturday events Registration ends Sept. 20 Pre-season on Sept. 27 Season starts Oct. 18 CSAW For undergrads. Funding available to send students to NY if the team makes it. 4 undergrads for final in NY Registration open now Starts Sept. 19 Would like to have group come in on Saturday to work on Both are CTF events Find flags, enter them, get points More CTF events Clay will send Mehdi updated flyers for campus.

A student gave a presentation on exploiting PDFs to run malicious code on the local computer. Was going to display a tool of Metasploit to inject malicious code into PFDs but of course the demo didn’t work. A student gave a presentation on Web Application Security which included a demonstration of Mutillidae. It was quite successful and we had many people start playing with webapp secuirty afterwards. We had relatively successful meeting today, lasting nearly 2 hours! Topics of discussion included: The basic tennats of security What is a network and what physical devices make it up? We had 7 people show up to today’s meeting - 2 new Speed Schoolers and one High School Junior from DuPont Manual! Topics of discussion included: Going to Manual tomorrow to recruit High Schoolers Creation and deployment of flyers around Speed and the Schools of Business, Physics, and Biology. Making team T-Shirts - Talk to Kari Donahue about this Chalking the sidewalks to recruit members Getting guest speakers. New member mentioned getting someone from GE.
